What is Terrazzo?
Terrazzo is the mix between Portland cement and marble chips, mixing these two give us those beautiful floors we love. Introduced to the United States in 1890’s from originally from Italy. Gaining popularity from the Art Deco Movement of the 1920’s. These floors became a hit, and were installed into homes fully waxed and finished from 1920’s to the 1960's!
How it is Restored
Using Diamond tooling we bring your dull and worn down top layer of your Terrazzo back to a smooth finish, once this smooth finish is at our desired smoothness, we allow the floor to dry completely. Once the drying process is completed, we come in and buff a polish into the floor bringing out those colors and shine!
Caring for your Terrazzo Floors
Terrazzo floors are one of the easiest floors to maintain! We recommend daily sweeping/vacuuming of the floor. If the floor ever needs mopping we suggest cold water, and a little bit of Fabuloso. We recommend getting your house rebuffed every 2-3 years. NO harsh chemicals like vinegar, bleach, and swifter wet jet!
